Default RAS Good or Bad?

I am thinking of using the RAS scheme. What experience have other people has with RAS. Is a deposit paid and does the council cover the cost of any damage caused by the tenants. Do you still have to register with the PRTB?

Thumbs up

Hi THere
There is very little difference between renting yourself and RAS In fact RAS will expect you to enter a four year agreement on a fixed rent if this suits you and you can make all the changes they require which could cost you then it might be for you. If you have a tenant already in your let and RAS are interested in
switching to their account, bear in mind they will take your tenant out and leave you high and dry looking for another tenant if you decide you are not interested in RAS.I feel they will also be looking for the BER cert as well.I have decided RAS is not worth the hassle and have now made up my mind to rent myself My advice is do not to rent to RAS until you have a full understanding of the system and the costs involved
Good Luck
